What Is A Success Habit?
The most successful people in the world share a few key traits with each other. These are the traits that keep them on track for success and they will work for anyone.
The trick with these traits is that you must act on them daily, and with the purpose of the end goal.
There are many traits that can help you to succeed in life, like planning out your day the night before.
I always laid out my work clothes and made my lunch the night before. It saved time in the morning and my lunch was cheaper and healthier than my co-workers who bought food in the cafeteria.
But not everyone does that.
Life is busy, so creating systems that free up time for things other than work is a good thing.

The Daily Habits of Successful People
Plan Ahead
As mentioned above, plan your work day the night before.
Have your day planned out in a planner (this is the one that I use). Lay out your clothes the night before. Prep your breakfast and make your lunch.
When you get up, you will be ahead of it.
Your day does not have to be totally carved in stone, but if you plan out your money-making tasks, at least you won’t be wasting time trying to figure out “what next?”
Meditation
Meditation is the time of day when you organize your mind to focus on your goals.
Take 15 minutes, either at the beginning or the end of every day to think about what you want, and how you can achieve it.
Do not concern yourself with whether your thoughts are realistic, just let ideas come.
The purpose of meditation is to calm your mind and let YOUR ideas come forward, the ideas that will work for you.
When thinking on your goals, start with the end and work backwards, paying attention to areas that you have to work on.
If your goal is to increase traffic to your site to 10,000 visitors a month, what do you think will improve your numbers?
Read articles about SEO, and compare their suggestions to what you are already doing.
Keep refining what you have to do to move to the next step, always building on previous work.
What is the next thing I need or what action do I have to take? Meditate for clarity every day.
An easy meditation that I learned from Bob Doyle is:
Close your eyes. Breathe in for a count of 4, hold it for a count of 4, exhale for a count of 4, hold it for a count of 4. Rinse and repeat. Easy peasy.
An easy meditation like this just helps you to control thoughts, nothing more. It’s like a “pause” switch when you have too much on your mind.
Find A Mentor…or Two
If you want success, find other successful people and do what they do.
In the beginning, you may only be able to find mentors online and that is fine. It is more important to emulate success than to physically stand next to it.
Watch the movie “The Secret” to what people are doing to manifest their success.
Go to YouTube and watch videos by Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, or Lisa Nichols to be inspired for greater success. And look around your social circle for the people who are trying to change their lives.
Decision Making
The ability to make decisions is crucial to being successful.
If someone presents you with an idea that can increase your success, can you make the decision to move forward with it immediately?
Being wishy-washy or indecisive will keep you stuck, and will cripple your ability to make good decisions later on as well, since you clearly do not trust yourself.
If you are not giving yourself a chance to succeed or fail, how will you know where to adjust things?
There are no mistakes, only feedback that can be used to make future decisions.
If you have a mastermind group, use them to help.
Spend time with people who challenge you to be your best self, and who can help you destroy reasons that hold you back.
It is imperative that you learn to trust yourself and your inherent ability to choose things that are right for YOU.
Make a decision and take action.
Decision making is part of our intuition, and this ability is what kept our ancestors alive, choosing to climb a tree, run away, or fight.
We would not live long if we cannot decide the best course of action when seeing an approaching predator!
Choosing also stops you from having to think about that one thing anymore.
If you choose to invite a guest blogger to your website, go with it and see what happens. If you get an increase in traffic, you can consider whether to bring that guest back or have a series of guests.
Continue to monitor your progress, making adjustments as you go.

Persistence
Persistence is defined as a “firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition”, or in other words NEVER GIVE UP!
Regardless of what other people may think of what you are doing, if you know it is the right thing for you keep doing it!
And never act on the advice of people who do not have to live with the consequences.
If your dream is to have a successful blog, or to be a successful affiliate marketer, then that is YOUR dream, and you owe it to yourself to succeed or fail on your terms.
Do not let people belittle your dreams, just because they do not understand them or because they have their own fears.
Find people who are supportive of what you are doing, and let them build you up!
Pluck, tenacity, and endurance are all positive words that are used to describe positive traits, so do not give up before you have a chance to see where your dreams can take you.
There will be times when you have fears about what you are doing, but chase them back to their origins and blast them away.
The first step in eliminating your fears is to be aware of them.
Identify where they came from and look at why they are in your life.
Many of our fears come from the fears of the adults that were in our lives as we were growing up.
People with their own problems and troubles, saying or doing things to us that have had a ripple effect for many years in our lives.
They are probably not even aware of what they did! So we do not have to carry their baggage for the rest of our lives.
Face your fear and eliminate it!
Stay In Your Own Lane
Please do not look at the successes and failures of others as a measure of your success.
They are doing them, and you need to do you.
Your success depends on your decisions and how you act on the results.
What you learn from taking chances will only help you. You relate in your own unique way, which is what makes diversity so great.
Everyone brings their own perspective to the world and thanks to that we have a diverse selection of great new products every year.
Be a unique player that shares their specialty with the world.
Read Books by Successful People
Look for books that can teach you how to get out of your comfort zone and into a new way of thinking. Sometimes you just need a different perspective to shift your thinking into new territory.
I love “Success Principles” by Jack Canfield. It is a goldmine of great motivational stories and quotes from famous athletes, actors, and business people who pursued their dreams and succeeded.
My copy is full of sticky notes, and it’s the kind of book you can open to any page for inspiration.
Stay Positive
Nothing kills success faster than negativity. If you need some tips on being more positive, check out “15 Positive Thinking Tips To Help You Succeed“.
If you have this bad habit, perhaps try a gratitude challenge or email course.
Developing a more grateful attitude is tremendously helpful for success. As well, some of the richest business people are also the most generous towards others.
Final Thoughts
Personally, I meditate daily to clear my mind and access my intuition. Since I have started the practice of meditation, my blogging life has become much easier. I generate ideas quicker, and I seem to find the information that I need on the first try almost every time.
I have also stopped procrastinating, thanks to my planner and some goal setting help.
My decision making skills have improved 100% since implementing these success habits.
And both the meditation and decision making have caused the side benefit of making me more persistent because my results get better and better which motivates me to keep moving forward and trying new things. Win-win!
Do whatever you need to that can help you move forward. Don’t spin your wheels…just try something completely new and see where it takes you.

Hi, Irma. You have made the brief summary of the habits of successful people successfully. I have never thought that it can be shortened only be three habits, lol. Thank you for the tips.
Hi Melani and thank you for visiting our site today!
I thought that shortening it to 3 would make it easier to adopt the habits. A long list could be daunting, and 3 is a good place to start.
Cheers,
Irma 🙂
Super article Irma! The decision making is one many of us have problems with, including myself at times! The point that we tend to forget, is the fact that we HAVE to make a decision to move forward, whether bad or good. As Napoleon Hill once said, “Our only limitations are those we set up in our own mind”. Thank you for sharing these habits. :o)
Hi Paula, and thank you for dropping by!
Decision making was never my strong suit, until I realized how much easier life is if you make decisions and then just move on! That Napoleon Hill quote is correct…it is in our minds whether we succeed or fail.
Cheers,
Irma 🙂
Irma, I agree with your entire article. These three traits are very critical to starting and staying on track with your dreams and goals. I really like the point that you made to surround yourself with supportive people and learn from others that are successful. Often times, we can get distracted by other people negativity and it affects us without even realizing it. That advice along with these skills will make it easier to endure challenges, be focused, and not to give up. Thanks for sharing this information.
Hi Claudette and thank you for your comments!
I have noticed that since I started meditating, and working hard on having a positive mental attitude, things in my life are shifting for the better. I truly believe that our lives reflect our attitude, and success really is a state of mind!
Cheers,
Irma 🙂
Persistence and consistency are the hardest part. Many people failed and give up too early.
Is there any apps that you recommend on meditation? I have not meditate before.
Hi Jay and thank you for visiting today!
I always recommend Brain Sync with Kelly Howell. I did a mini-review of them in my post “Success is a State of Mind”. Kelly Howell has some very nice meditations as well as the subliminal recordings, which help to rewire your brain to be more positive and hopeful. There are also some nice meditations on Youtube, but you need to try them a couple of times to see if the background music/noise works for you.
Cheers,
Irma 🙂
